Overview
Deloitte is seeking a Software Engineer I – .NET to join its Tax Transformation (TTO) team, responsible for developing advanced tax tools for the U.S. Tax Practice. This role involves designing and developing .NET applications, collaborating with U.S. teams, and contributing to software solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
You’ll work in a dynamic, inclusive environment where you’ll gain exposure to advanced technologies such as Azure, Microservices Architecture, and NoSQL databases, while supporting innovative projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development
- Analyze requirements and collaborate with U.S. and vendor teams to produce software designs and architecture.
- Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages.
- Test, deploy, and debug applications and systems, ensuring code quality.
- Application Support
- Maintain and support existing applications, ensuring adherence to defined standards and client expectations.
- Refactor and update code as needed for improved performance and functionality.
- Agile Collaboration
- Work on agile projects, participate in daily SCRUM calls, and provide task updates.
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore team members to deliver projects seamlessly.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement
- Stay updated with industry best practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Contribute to low bug rates and maintain high development standards.
- Overlapping Work Hours
- May require working staggered shifts (2 PM–11 PM) during critical design and development phases to ensure overlap with U.S. teams.
Key Skills Required
Must-Have
- Programming: Strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET Web API, Entity Framework 6+, and OOP Concepts.
- Databases: Experience with SQL Server 2012, NoSQL (preferably MongoDB), and database performance tuning.
- Azure: Hands-on experience with Azure and cloud-based solutions.
- Agile Methodologies: Proficiency in Agile frameworks and practices.
- Design Patterns: Experience in applying software design patterns.
- UI Development: Knowledge of HTML, CSS3, JQuery, and Bootstrap.
Additional Skills
- Tools: Familiarity with VSTS/Azure DevOps, Telerik/Kendo, and App Insights.
- Microservices Architecture: Understanding of microservices is a plus.
- Other: Knowledge of Angular and Dynatrace is desirable.
Qualifications
Education
- BE/B.Tech., MCA, M.Sc. (Computer Science), or M.Tech. in a related field.
Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in:
- Developing scalable software applications.
- Working with SQL, NoSQL databases, and Azure technologies.
- Implementing reusable libraries and ensuring code quality.
