Overview

Join Microsoft’s Azure Storage team as a Software Quality Engineer, where you’ll contribute to building, improving, and supporting scalable, secure, and reliable storage solutions for customers worldwide. You’ll work on challenging projects involving the design, monitoring, and analysis of cloud services to address growing data needs while ensuring data privacy, protection, and compliance.

This role offers the opportunity to expand your expertise in cloud services and storage, develop automation capabilities, and collaborate with a dynamic, globally distributed team.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Test Planning & Scoping
    • Identify the scope of testing to create quality plans for multiple features.
    • Collaborate with requirement writers and design architects to review and finalize test plans.
  2. Data-Driven Testing
    • Leverage available data to identify areas requiring exploration, development, or testing.
    • Build custom visualizations to ensure comprehensive product testing coverage.
  3. Automation Development
    • Apply best practices to create and implement automated testing procedures using languages such as C#, Python, or similar.
    • Develop automated regression release testing processes.
  4. Streamlining Manual Tasks
    • Write code or utilize tools to minimize repetitive tasks and reduce manual effort.
    • Encourage team members to integrate automation throughout the testing lifecycle.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 1+ year of experience in system testing (networking, storage, or virtualization) using languages such as C, C++, C#, or Python.
    OR
  • Equivalent professional experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 2+ years of experience in system testing.
  • Master’s Degree + 2+ years of technical engineering experience with relevant coding languages.
  • Proficiency in identifying gaps in testing and contributing to improvements in automation tools.
