Job Purpose
As an Associate Software Engineer at Caterpillar, you will play a crucial role in testing and assuring the quality of software while contributing to the development of a world-class platform for hosting diverse digital applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirement Analysis:
- Understand requirements and translate them into detailed test cases.
- System Integration Testing:
- Comprehend integrated systems and derive relevant test cases.
- Test Automation:
- Identify and select automation test cases.
- Configure and set up Test Automation Suites.
- Design basic automation frameworks as per project needs.
- Test Case Development:
- Create, enhance, debug, and execute test cases.
- Defect Management:
- Monitor and collate defects while managing change and executing regression tests.
- Problem-Solving:
- Provide solutions for object identity issues and error handling challenges.
- Client Interaction:
- Resolve client issues and communicate updates, risks, and solutions.
- Standards Maintenance:
- Uphold high software quality standards by promoting best practices within the team.
- Testing & Debugging:
- Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing for high-quality outcomes.
- Collaboration:
- Communicate with end users and internal customers for development, debugging, and testing.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Caterpillar management.
Tools & Technologies
- UI Automation: Selenium with Java or Microsoft Playwright.
- API Automation: Rest Assured, Karate, or Cucumber.
- Task Automation: Python scripting.
- Cloud Technologies: AWS.
- Development Tools: Maven, Git, Docker, Postman.
- Database Management: SQL (Snowflake, Postgres).
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficient in designing and executing test cases for software systems.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills for debugging and handling integration issues.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern development tools.
