Role Overview

Equifax is seeking a passionate and innovative entry-level Java Developer to join their technology team. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects, utilizing modern software practices and technologies in a collaborative, agile environment. You will work with skilled engineers to design and implement solutions within Equifax’s data and analytics systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document small systems or modules of medium-scale systems.
  • Apply fundamental software engineering principles and follow set instructions.
  • Provide feedback on code review, release processes, and design review.
  • Quickly learn and apply new information.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate systems with corporate product platforms.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and turn business requirements into reality.
  • Utilize modern development practices, such as serverless computing, microservices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Leverage automation within development processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in Java software development.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of cloud technologies like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
    • Familiarity with UI development (HTML, JavaScript, Angular, Bootstrap).
    • Proficiency in backend technologies (Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, SOA, Microservices).
    • Experience with source code control systems (SVN, Git) and build tools (Maven, Gradle).
    • Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL).
    • Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP).
    • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
    • Familiarity with automated testing tools like JUnit, Selenium, and SoapUI.

Role Overview

Equifax seeks a Quality Automation Engineer with a passion for ensuring quality and customer satisfaction in product development. As an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) in this role, you will develop and execute automated test plans and collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams. This position offers hands-on experience with testing tools and methodologies in a dynamic, agile environment, focusing on enhancing the quality and efficiency of Equifax’s technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test strategies and plans with engineering and architecture teams, including data creation and management.
  • Identify and automate regression tests for reuse.
  • Influence and enhance CI/CD processes and change management practices.
  • Ensure adherence to Equifax’s Engineering Handbook and SDLC guidelines, including security standards.
  • Execute pre-deployment and post-deployment verification plans, and report results.
  • Conduct resilience testing, quality control tests, and generate code quality reports (e.g., SonarQube).
  • Run automated code scans (e.g., Fortify) and achieve 80%+ unit test coverage.
  • Define and align defect severity standards across teams.
  • Perform web accessibility testing for customer-facing interfaces (WCAG).
  • Conduct application vulnerability and penetration testing.
  • Create and maintain a robust test automation suite and related documentation.
  • Shorten feedback loops to improve product delivery speed and quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 6+ months in automated testing (JUnit, Selenium, LoadRunner, SoapUI).
  • Skills:
    • Familiarity with cloud and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
    • Cross-device testing and automation.
    • Strong coding, analytical, and presentation skills.
    • Proficiency in testing tools like Karate, Cucumber, Gatling, Selenium, and Bruno.
    • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to technical and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance engineering, profiling (Java JVM, Databases), and tools like Load Runner and JMeter.
  • Familiarity with APM tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
  • Experience in continuous integration and code coverage tools (e.g., Jenkins, Sonar).
  • Strong development skills in Java and Spring.
  • Background in TDD/BDD, utilizing tools such as JUnit, Rest Assured, Appium, JBehave/Cucumber, and API testing.
  • Knowledge of Lambda for device testing.
