The Role: Data Engineer (Big Data)
As a Data Engineer at Zoom, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining high-quality data pipelines and scalable data solutions that empower the business with insights and support data-driven decision-making.
You will collaborate with engineers and analysts, leveraging big data ecosystems and cloud technologies to deliver efficient, distributed data solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and analytics platforms.

Work with big data tools such as Hive, Presto, Hadoop, HDFS, Parquet, and ORC.

Design and implement ETL processes for large-scale data management.

Use distributed frameworks like Apache Spark, Flink, and Scala.

Work with event streaming systems such as Apache Kafka.

Implement solutions on cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Use SQL and Python for data processing and analytics.

Leverage AI-powered tools and LLMs (like ChatGPT, Codeium, Perplexity) to improve coding productivity.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field OR 1–3 years of relevant professional experience.

Strong knowledge of ETL design, data warehousing, and distributed systems.

Proficiency in Python, SQL, Linux/Unix shell scripting.

Hands-on experience with cloud-based big data solutions.

Familiarity with AI/ML-driven productivity tools.
