Role Overview
As a Full Stack Service Layer Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the PS&L Service Layer, which acts as middleware between backend (mainframe) applications and various front-end applications used across Volvo’s global warehouses. This system ensures the timely, reliable, and secure transport of spare parts to dealers and end customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design complex solutions involving microservices and legacy applications.
- Maintain the complete software build and continuous integration (CI) flow.
- Collaborate with international cross-tech teams to deliver cost-effective and impactful solutions.
- Solve data-related challenges and optimize processes.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices.
- Mentor fellow developers and tech leads.
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced proficiency in Java.
- Expertise in building microservices using Spring Boot or Node.js.
- Experience in developing REST APIs.
- UI development experience with React or Angular.
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (Azure, GCP, or AWS).
- Knowledge of event-based integrations using Kafka or similar technologies.
- Experience with relational databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
- Python knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with modern monitoring and alerting tools.
- Experience working with Kubernetes or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks is a plus.
