Job Description & Responsibilities
- Architect, build, iterate, and manage our server codebase.
- Collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams to deliver a seamless, intuitive application.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and unit-testable code to ensure robustness, usability, and reliability.
- Own high-visibility components of the product—both internally and externally.
- Envision and build inspired, well-considered, and magical new features.
- Find simple, elegant solutions to hard engineering problems.
6-Month Milestones
- Integrate into Team Posh: Establish your working network across Engineering, Product Management, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional squads.
- Learn Core Technologies: Get acquainted with Poshmark’s Cloud Platform codebase, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
- Create User Impact: Enhance existing features and build new ones in your assigned area on the Cloud Platform team.
12+ Month Objectives
- Contribute ideas and code changes to improve the server codebase and architecture.
- Build core infrastructure pieces that accelerate feature development and reduce boilerplate.
- Mentor incoming team members and help scale best practices across the Cloud Platform.
Requirements
- BE or ME in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent). Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Hands-on experience with any of: Ruby, JRuby, Java, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Linux.
- Experience with Amazon AWS or other cloud platforms (preferred).
- User-oriented mindset and obsession with delivering high-quality software.
