Role Overview
As a Software Applications Development Engineer at NTT DATA, you will develop, enhance, and maintain software applications tailored to internal and external client needs. You’ll play a key role in designing, coding, and optimizing applications while ensuring their seamless functionality across diverse platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop applications aligned with client objectives and user needs.
- Design, write, and maintain application databases.
- Optimize existing applications for enhanced performance and compatibility.
- Identify and address client-specific requirements.
- Extensively test applications to ensure they are bug-free.
- Act as a technical advisor for application installation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand project limitations and requirements.
- Consult with clients during the design phase to align applications with their needs.
- Produce software documentation in adherence to company standards.
- Participate in software product reviews and team meetings.
Required Knowledge and Attributes
- Strong expertise in computer programming, application design, and user-focused features.
- Proficiency in Java, Perl, Python, C++, and other programming languages.
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
- Deep understanding of agile development processes, including Scrum.
- Familiarity with software development tools and integrated environments.
- Analytical and organizational skills for effective decision-making.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration capabilities.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in programming languages (e.g., Java, Perl, Python, C++) are preferred.
- Scrum/Project Management certifications are a plus.
Experience Requirements
- Extensive experience in software applications engineering and development.
- Skilled in programming languages like C, C++, Java, Python.
- Proven project management skills, particularly in Agile environments.
- Experience working with SQL and databases.
