A Silicon Engineering Intern designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for digital electronic devices and other digital electronic systems. Responsibilities include defining design architecture and operating parameters for circuitry and microelectronic components, selecting components and equipment based on specifications and reliability, and analyzing designs to establish operating parameters. Interns will also perform pre-silicon verification testing and develop test plans.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or coursework in the following areas:
    • Microelectronics/VLSI courses
    • Digital Logic Design and Simulation
    • Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures
    • Embedded Systems and Firmware
  • Knowledge of verification principles, testbenches, and UVM
  • Familiarity with C/C++ and scripting languages
  • Experience with digital timing analysis, synthesis, and place-n-route
  • Understanding of circuit design, VLSI design, and solid-state devices

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and improve hardware solutions in development.
  • Utilize performance instrumentation tools and present findings to the team.
  • Think strategically and creatively to enhance user experience visualization.
  • Implement or recommend technical solutions to design and quality challenges.
  • Write design verification test cases, test benches, and automation scripts.
  • Assist in writing tests for formal pre-silicon verification, including simulation and emulation tools.
  • Participate in tests for signal integrity, ensuring system reliability before production.
