Role Summary:

Join Barclays as a Unix Infrastructure Engineering Lead to drive innovation, automation, and strategic transformation of critical systems. You’ll lead a team in building scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure platforms that support business operations globally.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership and direction in Unix/Linux infrastructure.
Lead and mentor an engineering team focused on automation and efficiency.
Drive implementation of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Develop and execute strategic infrastructure plans aligned with business goals.
Monitor and manage performance, incidents, and system reliability.
Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Extensive experience with Unix/Linux systems and automation tools (Ansible, Chef).
Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Perl.
Deep understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and infrastructure scalability.
Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Relevant certifications in Unix/Linux, automation, or project management are a plus.

Preferred Experience:

Tools like Powerbroker, AIOps, and exposure to zero-touch operations.
Strong focus on security, risk mitigation, and infrastructure monitoring.
