Role Overview: Software Engineering Intern
As a Software Engineering Intern at Capital One, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, and work on impactful projects that drive business value.
Responsibilities:
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code
- Follow software development best practices and deploy applications in AWS cloud environments using CI/CD pipelines
- Utilize engineering practices such as pair programming, TDD (Test-Driven Development), ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development), and continuous integration
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, experimenting with new tools and frameworks
- Develop backend, middle-layer, or front-end services using Java, SQL, NoSQL databases, Python, Angular, Lit, TypeScript, and AWS
- Gain exposure to Big Data (Spark and Scala) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques
- Foster innovation, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity within the development team
- Follow Agile methodologies for continuous software delivery
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in at least one programming language with a willingness to learn others
- Pursuing or completed a degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science
- Knowledge of frameworks such as Spring Boot, relational/NoSQL databases, and message queues (optional but preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
