Role Overview:
As an Associate Software Development Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and testing software systems, modules, and applications. You will work closely with cloud-based and internet-related tools, helping to enhance existing products and create new solutions. From coding and deployment to working with APIs, telemetry data, and machine learning (ML) algorithms, you will be involved in the core aspects of software development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop Solutions: Assist in creating scalable, efficient software solutions that contribute to business growth.
- Coding and Testing: Write, test, and refine code, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Automation and Integration: Work with third-party software to automate processes and integrate different solutions.
- Collaboration: Partner with product teams to deliver high-quality software components.
- Documentation: Assist in drafting technical documentation, including user guides and operational procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in code reviews, refactor existing code, and support continuous software development improvement.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Cloud Services Knowledge: Basic understanding of AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, and other public cloud platforms.
- Programming Proficiency: Experience with languages such as C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and Node.js.
- Software Design and Algorithms: Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Microservices and APIs: Knowledge of microservices architecture and experience developing RESTful APIs.
- Databases: Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, such as MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
- Containerization: Basic experience with container runtime tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Agile Development: Familiarity with agile and lean methodologies, test-driven development, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to debug and troubleshoot software issues efficiently.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work in diverse teams and contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals or relevant agile certifications are preferred.
Experience:
- Entry-Level Role: This position is designed for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience in software development.
- Collaborative Environment: Experience working with geo-distributed teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Lifecycle Tools: Familiarity with tools across the software delivery lifecycle (IDE, source control, CI/CD, etc.).
