Job Overview:

Amazon’s Finance Technology team is integral to the operation and evolution of the company’s global finance systems. As an IT Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing, supporting, and enhancing the Oracle e-Business Suite applications that underpin Amazon’s core financial processes, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and report-to-report workflows.

This position is located in Hyderabad (ADCI – HYD 15 SEZ) and involves engaging with business customers, resolving complex operational challenges, and implementing scalable solutions for a rapidly growing global enterprise.

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. System Support and Operations:

Manage the day-to-day operations of Oracle e-Business Suite modules, ensuring seamless functionality and minimal disruptions to financial workflows.
Perform gap analysis to identify areas where system configurations or custom developments need to be adjusted to align with business requirements.
Lead system modifications, enhancements, and upgrades to optimize performance and support evolving business needs.

2. Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis:

Identify and resolve technical issues in collaboration with Oracle Support and other stakeholders.
Use root cause analysis techniques to address recurring system problems, ensuring long-term solutions and improved system reliability.

3. Data Analysis and Reporting:

Create SQL queries against Oracle tables to extract and analyze data for troubleshooting, metrics generation, and ad-hoc reporting.
Provide actionable insights from data to inform business decisions and process improvements.

4. Collaboration and Documentation:

Interact with business customers to document their processes and requirements, bridging the gap between technical capabilities and business objectives.
Draft and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, enhancements, and issue resolutions to ensure knowledge transfer across teams.

5. Design and Development:

Design, code, and implement modifications to the Oracle e-Business Suite, ensuring adherence to best practices and scalability.
Develop custom solutions to address unique business needs while maintaining system integrity.

6. Operational Excellence:

Ensure high-quality service delivery for Amazon’s global financial systems, maintaining uptime and performance standards.

Basic Qualifications:

The role requires a combination of technical expertise and problem-solving acumen. The following are the minimum qualifications for candidates:

Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write queries for troubleshooting and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex system challenges.
Communication:
- Ability to interact effectively with business customers and document their processes and requirements.
System Knowledge:
- Familiarity with system configuration, design, and enhancement within large-scale enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Oracle e-Business Suite Expertise:
- At least 4 years of experience working with Oracle Financials, specifically in areas such as Receivables, Cash Management, General Ledger, Procurement, Payables, iExpenses, and Fixed Assets.
- Strong technical understanding of Oracle Financials’ underlying tables, integration points, and technology processes.
Advanced Problem Solving:
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and solve complex, multi-faceted problems efficiently.
