Job Descriptions
GenC – Software Development Role
Cognizant GenC is a foundational role focused on developing software solutions. Responsibilities include:
- Understanding business requirements, documenting technical specifications, and raising clarifications.
- Writing, maintaining, testing, debugging, and deploying software code.
- Creating low-level designs for software components.
- Developing test scenarios and ensuring quality assurance.
- Working in Agile environments and following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Identifying and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Collaborating with project teams and participating in technical discussions.
- Continuously upskilling and cross-skilling to adapt to emerging technologies.
- Demonstrating excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
GenC Next – Advanced Software Engineer Role
GenC Next is a premium track for candidates with advanced programming skills and full-stack development abilities. Key requirements include expertise in:
- Programming languages: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript.
- Web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Databases: Oracle, SQL/PLSQL.
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Frameworks: Spring Boot, Maven, Entity Framework, ASP.NET Core, Spring Data JPA, and REST APIs.
- Computer Science fundamentals: Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Candidates must hold industry-accredited certifications in one or more of the technologies listed above.
GenC Pro – Enterprise Technology Specialist
GenC Pro is designed for students with expertise in specific enterprise platforms and technologies, such as:
- Cybersecurity
- Salesforce, Mulesoft, Pega
- Oracle Database Management
- SAP (SAP ABAP, SAP Basis)
- ServiceNow
Industry-recognized certifications in these areas are mandatory for GenC Pro candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduation Year: 2024
- Eligible Degrees: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech (excluding Leather, Food, Fashion Technology, etc.)
- Academic Performance: Minimum 60% in X, XII, Diploma, UG, and PG (59.9% will not be rounded up)
- No active backlogs at the time of application and joining.
- Flexibility to relocate and work in any Cognizant office and shift.
- Open to Indian nationals, OCIs, and PIOs currently residing in India.
- Communication via personal email ID registered in Superset (this must remain unchanged until onboarding).

- Industry-accredited certifications (if available).
For Interview:
- All academic documents (college ID, marksheets, degree certificates, etc.).
For Onboarding:
- PAN Card (mandatory for background verification; ensure details match official records).

Selection Process & Notification
Shortlisted candidates will be notified about their hiring category (GenC, GenC Pro, or GenC Next). The final decision regarding eligibility, assessments, and selection will be at Cognizant’s sole discretion.
